This is another one of my paint-overs, as mentioned in my last email. The built-up layers provide wonderful textures for the many variations of white.
Because this painting came from my imagination, there was plenty of freedom for abstraction. I’m really enjoying painting snow, and all the colors that are present. It feels like I’m just getting started…
This is the Winter Orchard painting that made it to the prime spot above our mantel. The photo is a little dark, but you get the idea.
Because my paintings go out the door to galleries so quickly, I’m constantly having to paint something new for the empty spots on my walls, and especially above my mantel. This is a good problem, really, because it motivates me to paint!
We’ll see if this one ever gets to take its place in my home. If it sounds like that makes me sad, it doesn’t really. It’s a wonderful feeling to know that other people enjoy my work and want to have it in their homes.
Have a wonderful Christmas, everyone!
