Between finishing up a few gallery commissions, and my husband recently having major back surgery, not many new available paintings have come out of the studio in the last month. It was deeply satisfying then, when this piece basically painted itself. As my fellow artists know, it doesn’t always happen that way!
Port Oneida 4, a 36″ x 48″ acrylic on canvas. Available.
Field and Sky 2, 36″ x 36″ acrylic on canvas. Available.
September was very productive (seven finished paintings with work on three others). Above are the last two which were finished before the end of the month.
This productivity was, in part, thanks to a couple of artists whose philosophy of “just show up,” or “put the time in the studio” motivated me to make better use of my day. In the past I’ve wasted a lot of time waiting for the inspiration to hit. Lately, however, I’ve challenged myself to just pick up the brushes and clean off the palette and see what happens. It’s amazing what happens.

I’m taking them seven new paintings, including the two above, plus a newly finished piece that will be shown for the first time at the reception.
Below are four new paintings finished in the last month.

I’m very grateful for the continued strong support of my art, and want to say a big “Thank You!” to all the collectors, both recent and those who go back with me a few years. (I’ve been painting full-time since 2010, so that’s quite a list!) Among the remarkable volume of paintings sold this last month, here is a look at a few of them which were favorites, either of mine, or of the viewers on social media. (below)
Thanks to all of you! I’d love to hear from you, and it would be especially wonderful to see photos of my paintings in their special place in your home. You can send a photo directly to my email address at karin@knelsonart.com.
I hope you’re all having a great summer and staying cool!!!
