I always wanted to paint this boat, captured by my son Jonny. The boat was just a small little detail in the photo, sailing on Chicago’s lakeshore with the giant city skyline looming in the background. One of these days, maybe I will find a way to portray both the boat and the city in a single painting. In the meantime, however, I found that the sails alone were a story worth telling.

Many blessings to you, my friends, and may hope fill your sails with the wind of the Spirit.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” Romans 15:13
