Acrylic Tips: a new page!

AAf16_Nelson
The opening spread to my 10-page article in Acrylic Artist Magazine features “Autumn in the City.”

For the fellow artists who follow me (especially those working in acrylic), I have some fun news! There is a new page on my website called Acrylic Tips.  This link will take you there. You will find a complete explanation about some of the things I only briefly shared in the Fall, 2016 issue of Acrylic Artist Magazine.

The topics covered are:

  • Overcoming the challenges of acrylic’s fast-drying properties.
  • Transparent paints: the initial layer
  • Transparent paints: subsequent layers (adding warmth; or toning down)
  • Thinned opaques
  • Creating interesting negative spaces

There are some other topics I plan to add in the future; stay tuned to email updates. Also, if there are specific topics you’d like to see addressed–relative to my particular style of painting, please feel free to shoot me an email. I’d love to hear from you.

Note: if you’d like to order a copy of the Fall, 2016 issue of Acrylic Artist Magazine, this link will take you there.

Happy “Last Day of August” to everyone,

Karin
