This outbuilding is part of a farm on Quincy Avenue. The day I captured this scene, the sun was so strong on the long side of the building, you couldn’t even tell through the glare that there was a door and a couple missing boards. I chose to paint it just like that, because that’s what appealed to me about the scene. That, and the softness of the values. It is more typical of me to paint with strong contrasts of light and dark values.
